What inspired you to get together as a group?

We had all been playing together in and out for a time. We decided to make a band in memory of my best friend. He taught me how to play guitar, as well as everything about music when we were kids. We used to joke that since we both lived on HWY 42 that would be the name of our band. In January of 2003, he was killed in a car accident on HWY 42. I figure that, that is enough to make it our band name. The rest of the guys agreed.

Where did you meet?

Shane and I met in the Marine Corps after he heard me wailing on the balcony while cleaning our rooms. From there we built a bond that followed us throughout both our solo careers. We met Paolo after being on the outs with our label. He gave us the drive to want to start back again and with his knowledge in music he has brought the two of us to a level we could have never reached without him.

Which artist(s) have inspired you most, both past and present?

John - The Beatles
Shane - Metallica
Paolo - The Beatles

Can you explain your sound and style?

Old school rock & roll with a twist. The Beatles were able to create album after album with every song sounding completely different than the one before, never having a certain sound but becoming the pioneers of rock and roll.

What has been your biggest achievement as a group so far?

The ability to write so well together - the click when you know you’ve got it, and together, we know we’ve got it.

What was it like being signed to a label as a solo artist?

Do you want the truth? That may have been the worst experience of my life!

Can you give us an insight into being a signed artist?  What was your day to day life like? My day to day life was much like any other normal person. While I worked a nine to five I spent every hour I could in the studio trying to create good music.

Do you have any advice you can give our Epic artists on getting signed to a label?

Be careful. If it’s your first offer, don’t jump into things. You can get a lot of promises, and that what I’ve seen so far in this business, very few have the ability to make things happen.

How did it feel when your time with the label came to an end?

It felt great, but at the same time, horrible. I spent my whole life looking for that one dream - to be a signed artist but when accomplishing that goal it wasn’t what I thought it was. I felt relieved knowing that I no longer had the burden of relying on somebody else that wasn’t reliable. Though happy music had become hard for me, I put down the guitar and didn’t write for months afterwards.

What did you take from this experience?

“Name droppers” - If someone tells you that they know somebody big in the business, that is their way of blowing smoke. Your biggest thing to watch is those that drop names. I Guess my biggest learning experience is to watch where I put my trust.

When can we expect to see the finished album?  Where can we get it, will it be available from Epic Tunes? Once completed, it will definitely be available on Epic Tunes.

As a group, what are your dreams and aspirations for the future?

We hope to be great. We’re happy when you’re happy. We will continue to make the best music we can and we will let it speak for itself.

How is Epic Tunes contributing to your growing success?

Well I’m a featured artist right? They’ve given us the opportunity for exposure to the European fans, as well as sell our music.
