When signing up as an artist at Epic Tunes you have two different accounts to choose from. You can either choose to become a free artist or an Epic artist (account details are available on the sign up pages). As an artist you can publish personal information in the form of an artist profile, relating to yourself and your music. You can also upload music and pictures. When signing up as an artist at Epic Tunes you join a community of musicians from all over the world.

Artists with an Epic account have the opportunity to sell their songs online. As an Epic artist you also receive extra features including a photo gallery, and unlimited access to all other site features. You can not set the price of uploaded saleable songs as there is a fixed amount for all songs sold on the site. This is set by epictunes.com ( (89 pence) ) . A percentage of every song sale will go to epictunes.com ( 10 %- to cover our server cost). Epic artists must upload at least one free song when choosing to sell other music. This gives listeners a sample of your style before they choose to purchase any of your music. Free artists can upload songs which are available for download to listeners for free. They can’t sell any of their songs.

Listeners are music fans interested in hearing new music and joining a worldwide community of artists and music lovers. To join up as an Epic listener is 100% free. As an Epic listener you can listen to, download and talk about new music. You can rate and review and bookmark your favorite Epic artists. Listen to Epic radio and talk all things music in our live chat rooms and forum. Add money to your Epic moneybox and purchase music direct from artists.

When I click the ‘tune in’ button corresponding to a radio station, the player window does not open?

Please check whether the pop - up windows are blocked by the browser. If so allow the pop - ups to open. This should now allow the radio station to open.

As an Epic member you are entitled to purchase tracks from our on-line selection of the latest unsigned music. By adding money to your moneybox you can purchase music or merchandise from all your favorite Epic artists.

In order to sign up as an Epic artist or to purchase music and merchandise on-line a payment transfer is required. To make safe and quick payments on-line, a merchant bank is required. World Pay and Paypal enable thousands of businesses to accept payments on the internet safely and securely. If you do not have a Worldpay or Paypal account don’t worry. This is a quick and simple process and can be completed when choosing to sign up as an Epic Artist or when adding money to your account.

As an Epic artist you use your epic moneybox to store money earned from MP3’s or any merchandise you may have on sale. Epic listeners and Epic artists can use any money stored in their moneybox to purchase music or merchandise for sale on Epic Tunes. If you are an Epic artist and the balance in your moneybox reaches the payout amount you can request for the funds be sent to you by Epic Tunes.

As an Epic artist you have the opportunity to sell music to fans worldwide. The money accumulated from these sales is deposited in your moneybox. The moneybox is situated in your member area where you can check your balance and details of your music sales. When signing up as an Epic artist you are given a choice of payout amounts (£20, £50, £100, £200). This is the balance amount you wish to have in your moneybox before you can request a payment from Epic Tunes. Once your chosen payout amount is reached you can claim your money.

When you reach your chosen payout amount Epic Tunes will automatically transfer money owed to you via either Paypal* or cheque. We will contact you by email to agree a payment method. *Please note that Paypal make a small charge for all transactions made using their service.

The song sale prices on Epic Tunes are all set at a standard rate of 0.89p. However a small percentage will go to epictunes.com (10% - to cover our server cost). The amount can be transferred to your account by setting a payout request amount when you first register for Epic Tunes. When your balance reaches that amount your payment will be forwarded to you.

Podcasting is a new way of listening to music and radio shows. You can get a podcasted show sent to your computer automatically so you can listen to the show at a time that is most convenient to you.

You no longer have to sit at your computer to listen to all your favorite new music. You can transfer your latest Epic Tunes podcast to your mp3 player and listen to it on the go. If you don’t have an mp3 player you can also listen to it on your computer using your media player.

To begin with, you will need some podcasting software. This will allow you to subscribe to the Epic Tunes Podcast. Podcasts can then be downloaded to your computer whenever a new show is produced.

Most podcasting software is shareware and can be obtained for free on the internet. We use Doppler (to download Doppler please click on the link on our podcasting page) however all podcasting software is compatible.

Once you have installed some podcasting software you can now subscribe to the Epic Tunes podcast. Here are some easy steps to help you:

1) On our podcasting page click on the ‘subscribe to our podcast here’ link.
2) Shade and copy the page address (URL).
3) Open your podcasting software and choose to ‘add feed’.
4) Paste the URL in the appropriate field and name the feed (e.g. Epic Tunes Unsigned).
5) You are now ready to receive your podcast. Choose to ‘retrieve’ (download) podcast. The Epic Tunes podcast will now be downloaded and saved to your computer.

Once downloaded, the podcast can be played on your media player or transferred to your mp3 player. To receive the next Epic Tunes podcast simply access your podcasting software and choose to ‘retrieve’ (download) when the new show has been released by the site.

The Epic Tunes shop enables Epic artists to sell Cd’s and merchandise worldwide. You must have an ‘Epic artist’ account to sell your products. Each Epic artist has their own shop accessible from their profile page. All products are also featured in the main Epic Tunes shop.

To buy music and products from Epic Tunes you need to add money to your ‘epic money box’. This is your on-site account; you can add money to this whenever you feel the need. This makes it easy for you to make quick purchases, whether it’s a download or Cd the money is deducted from your epic money box.

For example if you add £20 to your epic money box that money will be stored for until you wish to make a purchase. The cost of that purchase will then be deducted. This saves you from going through the payment process every time you wish to make a purchase.

You must first have an ‘Epic artist’ account to sell your products at Epic Tunes. An annual ‘Epic artist’ subscription costs £29.99. In order to sell your products in the Epic Tunes shop you need to send your products to us.

1) To add a product to your shop go to your member area and click on ‘add products to shop’.
2) Fill in the appropriate fields and click on ‘finish’.
3) Next download the ‘product submission form’ to enable you to send us your products.
4) Print the form and fill in all the fields. This must be sent to us with your products.

The product must then be approved by administration before it is listed (this will take no more than 48 hours after we receive your goods).

All cd’s and merchandise to be sold on Epic Tunes should be sent with a completed ‘product submission form’ to the following address:

Epic Tunes will take 10% of the cost of each product that is sold in the shop. Our postage is a set rate and does not affect your sale price or your earnings. We simply take 10% from the product list price and the other 90% is yours.

Each time a product is sold in your shop and verified by administration the money will be transferred directly into your epic moneybox. Once your balance reaches your chosen payout amount the money will be sent to you.

Access your member area and click on ‘buddies list’. You will be taken to your buddies list. This will contain a list of all members you have chosen to be your friends. On the far right hand side of each member you will see a red cross. Click on the corresponding cross to delete a member from your list.

To find out if a buddy is on-line you can refer to the left hand side of the page above the login box. Here it will say for example: ‘no buddies online’. If a name appears in orange here for example: ‘epicstar is online’, then one of your buddies is currently on the site. Click on the orange username and you will be taken directly to their profile page where you can send an instant message or post a comment.

When another member sends you a message using the Epic Tunes internal messaging system you will be alerted in a number of ways. In the log-in box on the top left of the page it will read ‘1 message in inbox’. It will also show in your member area as a number next to ‘my messages’. For example ‘my messages (1)’. This will indicate you have one message in your inbox.

To delete messages in the your inbox, first access it be visiting your member area and clicking on ‘my messages’. Here you can delete any of your messages by clicking the corresponding ‘delete’ buttons.

All members have the ability to delete shout-outs that are posted on their profile page. To do this first go to your ‘member page’ and click on ‘my shout-outs’ A list of all shout-outs will appear on the page. To delete a shout-out click the ‘delete’ corresponding to that post.

To post a blog entry you must first go to your ‘member area’ and click on ‘blog’. You will then be taken to a blog program called ‘WordPress’. Enter your Epic Tunes username and password and click ‘login’ (please note that this is case sensitive e.g. if your username starts with a capital, ‘Epic1’ then you must enter it like this). You will now be taken to the ‘dashboard’ page of WordPress.

1) To post a new blog click ‘write a post’.
2) First give your blog a title e.g. ‘Production of New Album’.
3) Now begin writing your blog in the field titled ‘post’.
4) Once you have completed writing your blog entry click on ‘publish’.

Your blog entry will now be posted on Epic Tunes and can be viewed from your profile as well as the blog page.

What happens if I subscribe to a members blog?

Subscribing to a blog is very much the same as subscribing to a podcast and also uses an RSS feed (really simple syndication). You will need some podcasting software to subscribe to a blog. Information on this software can be found in the podcasting section of these FAQ’s.

By subscribing to a member blog new entries will be automatically downloaded to your computer. This ensures you get all new blog entries from your favourite artists and epic listeners.

Subscribing to a member blog is easy. First you must ensure that you have some podcast software installed on your computer. Don’t worry if you do not, details and instructions to obtain this free software can be found in the podcasting section of these FAQ’s.

1) Access the member blog you are interested in subscribing to.
2) By the username of the blog you will see a small orange box. Click this.
3) You will be taken to a page of computer code. Simply shade and copy the page address (URL) at the top e.g. http://epictunes.com/blog/feed/?author=??.
4) Access your podcast software and click ‘add feed’.
5) Paste address into URL field.
6) Name the feed in the ‘name’ field e.g. ‘Epic Artist Blog’.
7) Click ‘add feed’.
8) To download the member blog select the blog feed by placing a tick in the corresponding box and click ‘retrieve now’. (some podcast software may differ slightly. Epic Tunes uses Doppler)

You have now subscribed to a member blog and can download new entries whenever you wish by retrieving using your podcasting software.

When I post a blog entry my real name appears instead of my username. How do I change this?

This can be changed by accessing your blog. First go to your ‘member area’ and click ‘blog’. Sign in to ‘WordPress’ and click ‘Profile’ on the navigation bar at the top of the page. Within the ‘name’ box you can enter a nickname. Your username should already be entered here, if not enter it now. Below the ‘nickname’ field is the following option: ‘display name publicly as’. By clicking here you can choose to display your username only.

A common problem is attempting to upload unsupported files. Before attempting to upload your music ensure the files are in MP3 format. To upload music access your member area and select the ‘upload songs’ option. From this page you can add a song title, description and photo. To add a song to your profile click browse ‘song file’ to upload a track stored on your computer. Please be patient as uploading may take a few minutes depending on the file size and your internet connection speed.

A common problem is attempting to upload unsupported files. Before attempting to upload your music ensure the files are the following format: AVI, MPEG, MPG, WMV. You must have an ‘Epic artist’ account to upload videos. As an ‘Epic artist’ you may upload up to 3 videos at one time. To upload a video login, go to your member area and click on ‘my videos’. Enter a video title, description and genre in the appropriate fields. Click ‘browse’ to search for a video stored on your computer. Please be patient as uploading may take a few minutes depending on the file size and your internet connection speed.
